THE VELUX ROOF WINDOWS SUPERBIKE RACE ANNOUNCEMENT

Mervyn Whyte, Clerk of the Course and joint Race Director for the Coca-Cola International North West 200, this evening announced new sponsorship details for this year's Superbike race.

Mr Whyte said at the press conference:
"We are delighted to introduce a new sponsor for the NW 200 Superbike race this year, the VELUX Roof Windows Company, which have been the world market leader of roof windows for over fifty years. The first Superbike race will be known as the VELUX Roof Windows Superbike Race, this race being the first of the day's programme."

Since the first VELUX roof window was made in 1942, VELUX has led the market by example. Through painstaking research and development, it has constantly improved its products and today you can't buy a better roof window anywhere in the world.

VELUX is delighted to have been given the opportunity to sponsor this year's Superbike race at the biggest sporting event in Ireland, the Coca-Cola International North West 200.

Bill Lindsay, Sales Manager for VELUX, wished Mervyn Whyte and Eddie Johnston MBE, their team and the riders a safe, successful and enjoyable race week and looks forward to meeting customers, fans, riders, press and race organisers in the paddock.

Mervyn Whyte continued by revealing details of entries for the VELUX Roof Windows Superbike race:
"I am delighted to announce that entries to date have included Ian Lougher and Ian Duffus riding new Suzuki machines under the Hector Neill banner. This is the first time Suzuki have fielded an official team for a number of years and it is great to have them onboard again."

Others to date include Adrian Archibald and John McGuinness aboard the official Honda team machinery but speculation still mounts as to the return of Jim Moodie and Dave Jefferies aboard V&M Yamahas.
